Port Jobs created Financial Tools for the Trades in 2005 with financial support from the National Endowment for Financial Education and Wells Fargo, and the participation of several apprenticeship programs in the Seattle‐King County area.
Port Jobs is a nonprofit organization working to increase access to living wage jobs for residents of the Greater Seattle area. We focus on the building and construction trades, airport employment, financial education and low-income car ownership. Port Jobs has been teaching apprentices about money management since 2005.
The National Endowment for Financial Education® (NEFE®) is a nonprofit foundation committed to educating Americans on a broad range of financial topics and empowering them to make positive and sound decisions to reach their financial goals. NEFE provided the initial funding to create Financial Tools for the Trades and continues to be a collaborative partner.
Wells Fargo is a financial services company providing banking, insurance, investments, mortgage and consumer finance across North America and internationally. Wells Fargo helped develop Financial Tools for the Trades, provided financial support for the Trainer Toolkit, and has trained its bankers to co-teach the Financial Tools class in the Seattle area.
